Close To The Heat EP Go Back
Cologne's Jin Choi who has previously released on Mathias Schaffhäuser's label Ware has found his way to Archipel's doorstep and now brings us the exceptionally well written and produced "Close to the heat EP".
The A side features one track "Close to the Heat" which has it's roots tightly bound in mediterranean-esque soil, siphoning up nutrient waters saturated with mesmerizing textures which lead to the formation of geometrically branching rhythms decorated with a rich and melodic foliage blown with the damp air of melancholy vocals.
First on the B side is "The Black and the White" which takes on a similar mood to Close to the Heat with a moist atmosphere dotted with blossoms of sun kissed plucked strings drenched in a soft fizzing backdrop of subtle and very mellow intricate textures. Next is "Basilisk" which takes on a slightly more serious and concrete mood laced with spirals of rubbery and fluid elements bound around deep and mantid veins to form a steady and attentive flight through beautifully amnesiac forests of delicate rhythm.
