Rubik Go Back
Archipel brings you Winnipeg's Layborn with his debut net LP full to the brim with bubbly, earthy sounds.
Beginning with "Sullen City" we are taken into a headspace of abstract pointilist undertones with a constantly flowing organic warmth which slides directly in to "Solitary Drive" which drones long lost echoes of evening light shimmering into weathered night. "A Pin in the Sky" fluffs the warm feelings of the two previous tracks into a billowing rhythmic and contemplational escapade into "Wires and Whispers Came" which is mossy but loaded with feelings of skittering otherworldliness. "Shaded by What Is" grows upon the themes of warmth and presents a more stripped down approach with shades of a psychedelic realm.
This release is available for free.
To support quality music, we release 4 tracks commercially. This psychedelic tone is thrown into full throttle with the almost sixteen minute long "Amber Part 2" which slowly and delicately builds into a newly discovered afternoon space splashed moist with the radiation of the cosmos. "Art of Stumbling" is a driven, hypnotic and bouncy upright gait through gently shifting skylines which lead to "One Raw Artifact" where a busy and rolling pace is taken on. Closing things off is Suz's Fat Granny Smith Remix of "Amber Part 2" where the original is folded over and into itself with added vocals which slice and bend their way throughout the centre of the twisting aural wormhole.
